What I call a sexy theme:

A theme with all or most of the following:

• Takes up a considerable amount of the screen (not all shoved to one side)
• Previous and Next page links are easy to find (one should not have to spend 3 minutes trying to figure out how to go to page two on someone’s blog)
• Legible text
• Crisp presentation of images in posts (does not stretch photos or gifsets)
• Posts are not too tightly spaced apart, however not too openly spaced apart. Posts should also utilize their vertical and horizontal space (not too much padding)
• Description box provides plenty of space for large descriptions but is prepared for short ones as well. 
• Links are all in one logically designated space (not three different places for different sets of links, like the home/ask/submit/archive links one place, personal links somewhere else, and blog pages even elsewhere)
• “HasPages” enabled.
• Offers a space for 4 or more links but has them coded so they do not show if links have not been added. 
• Posts have tags visible on the index page (whether by hovering or just straight up provided)
• Posts have Note count 
• Posts have a decent permalink page
• Posts have Reblog/Like buttons or links (helpful for the frequent tumblr glitches)
• Theme is considerate of one’s desire to customize theme colors 
• Theme is considerate of one’s desire to use or not use images in description box, a header image, or a background image. 
• Theme takes care to handle the display of images inside block quotes (theme should be coded to prevent any image bleeding over the post box)
• Theme addresses the unique expression of links, bold, and italics (Allows theme users to set colors specific to those so when others browse a page, they notice links, italics, and bold right away)
• Theme is flexible and able to adapt to various manners of screens (small and large), if not all
• Posts have a useful timestamp. (I prefer Day, MMM ##st YYYY, at HH:MMam/pm like Thursday, Aug. 1st, 2013, at 3:01pm.)
